Elie Saab Fall 2013

Always the best - Elie Saab

The famous Lebanese designer called its show “Strictly Decorative”. “In keeping with modern times the Elie Saab woman faces the day with aplomb, wearing a crêpe satin jumsuit, high waisted trousers and sheer silk chiffon blouses.”
An androgynous undercurrent ran through the collection – masculine tailoring as inspiration mixed with feminine elegance. Clean, strong lines announced themselves in the satin smoking and fitted jackets, while a black and white narrative mingled among the volumes of matt fabrics and hues of navy, petrol blue and chartreuse yellow. Dresses were knee-length with a perplum defined waist.
The graphic lines were the key to this season’s creations as well as the transparency and shapely cut-outs, or intricate, decorative flourishes embroidered in silk, mohair, velvet, broderie anglaise and sequins.
